Country Cottage

Constructed from some agricultural buildings in the 1970s, this cottage required lighting that was discreet and would not dominate the rooms which have low ceilings.

As built in the 1970s, each room was lit with a pendant and a 60W tungsten lamp. The interior was upgraded in the 1980s with MR16 tungsten halogen which was a marked improvement although, due to the lack of ceiling space in which to recess the fittings, the glare was considerable.

The house is now undergoing a new generation fit out with LED fittings, thus reducing glare and energy consumption.
